On 12 August 2006, UNIC Antananarivo marked International Youth Day in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Youth MDGs network.

The theme of the day was “Malagasy Youth challenge for the achievement of MDGs” and four main activities were organized during this observance: a youth carnival ; an exhibit related to MDGs: health, environment, national solidarity, economy and private sector; “radio crochet” regarding the themes of the exhibit; and a sporting and cultural event.
