In February, the Information Centre focused on the MDGs, particularly Goal 7— ensuring environmental sustainability.  The UNIC along with the UN system in Madagascar organized several events around the theme of water.

 An environmental education programmes and painting competition was organized for young school scouts and guides in collaboration with UNESCO. Prizes were given to students who create the “best garden” (Ambohimanga, 17- 19 February). Press club meetings are organized by the UNIC in February on the issues of “problem of water access in Madagascar”, and “increasing access to microfinance.”
